Get ready to bend some rods and fill your cooler with tasty snappers on this full-day offshore adventure with Biloxi Bluewater Charters. Captain Jerry McClure knows these waters like the back of his hand, and he's itching to put you on the fish. Whether you're a seasoned angler or it's your first time wetting a line, this 6-8 hour trip is your ticket to some of the best bottom fishing the Gulf has to offer. So grab your sunscreen and let's hit the blue water!
Picture this: You're cruising out of Biloxi harbor as the sun rises, the salt air in your face and the promise of red snapper on your mind. Captain Jerry's got the coordinates dialed in for some honey holes where these tasty bottom-dwellers are stacked up. Once we hit the spot, it's all hands on deck. You'll be dropping baits, feeling that telltale thump, and cranking up snappers before you know it. The crew's there to show you the ropes, bait your hooks, and make sure everyone's in on the action. And hey, don't be surprised if a bruiser cobia crashes the party – these "man in the brown suit" are known to hang around our snapper spots and put up one heck of a fight.
We're talking serious bottom fishing here, folks. Captain Jerry's got the boat rigged with heavy-duty conventional reels spooled with braided line to cut through the current. You'll be using a classic bottom fishing setup – a weight to get your bait down where the snappers are hanging out, and a circle hook to make sure those fish stick when they bite. The crew will show you how to send your bait down and feel for that distinctive snapper bite. It's all about staying in touch with your line and being ready to reel when you feel that thump. And if the bite's a little slow? No worries. We might switch it up and try some live bait or even do a little drift fishing to cover more ground. Captain Jerry's always got a few tricks up his sleeve to put fish in the box.

"Captain Jerry was very eager to make sure we caught fish even though the conditions were less than favorable. Him and his deckhand both worked hard in rougher seas to get us snapper limits and a few really nice cobia. Everything was done very professionally. We had a great trip and will certainly book again with them." - joseph
Red Snapper: The star of the show, these crimson beauties are what Gulf fishing dreams are made of. Known for their fierce fights and delicious white meat, red snapper typically hang out near reefs and wrecks in waters 60 to 250 feet deep. They're opportunistic feeders, which means they'll hit a variety of baits – from cut fish to live pinfish. The average size you'll catch is 5-10 pounds, but don't be shocked if you hook into a 20+ pound monster. Red snapper season is strictly regulated, but when it's open, it's game on!
Mutton Snapper: While not as common as their red cousins, mutton snapper are a prized catch in these parts. These wily fish are known for their more subtle bite and their tendency to swim off with your bait if you're not paying attention. They've got a pinkish-red color with a distinctive black spot near the tail. Muttons love structure and are often found around the same reefs as red snapper. They put up a great fight and their meat is considered by many to be even better than red snapper. When you hook a big mutton, get ready for a battle – these guys can grow up to 30 pounds!
Listen, if you're itching for some rod-bending, drag-screaming action, this is the trip for you. Captain Jerry and his crew at Biloxi Bluewater Charters have got the know-how and the spots to put you on the fish. Whether you're looking to fill the freezer with some of the Gulf's tastiest eating fish or just want to experience the thrill of battling big snappers, you won't be disappointed. Remember, all the gear's provided, so all you need to bring is your game face and maybe a lucky hat. Oh, and don't forget to factor in that 20% mate's fee at the end of the trip – these guys work hard to make sure you have a blast and go home with fish. So what are you waiting for? The snappers are calling, and it's time to answer. Book your spot now and get ready for a day of offshore action you won't soon forget!

Capt Jerry and Tommy where great on our trip. It was my first charter fishing trip with all of my kids and they showed us a great time. Capt Jerry put us on a school of Redfish and it was a frenzy! Tommy was great with my youngest boy and ensured lines were always ready for the next catch. Good vibes, good music and good company. Great experience. Thank you Capt Jerry and Tommy for creating such wonderful memories for me and my family!

Mutton Snapper's a bit different from their red cousins. They're usually around 20 inches, but can hit 3 feet and over 30 pounds. Look for 'em near reefs, mangroves, and inlets with good tidal flow. They love sandy areas too, which can make their pinkish color turn more grey. These fish are loners, so you won't see big schools. Best fishing's in 130 to 230 feet of water, but they can be anywhere from 82 to 295 feet down. Muttons are prized for their fight - they'll give you a run for your money on lighter tackle. When you're going after them, fresh bait is key. Try using a light sinker or a knocker rig to let your bait drift naturally. Here's a tip: if you're in shallow water, let your bait float in the chum slick. When you see that pink flash in the clear blue, you know you've got one. Bring it in smooth and steady - these guys are some of the best eating fish out there.

Red Snapper's a real prize in these parts. They're typically 1-2 feet long, but can grow up to 3 feet and 35 pounds. You'll find 'em hanging around structure in deep water, usually 30 to 620 feet down. They like it warm, so late spring through fall is prime time. Anglers love 'em for their fight and their flavor - some of the best eating fish out there. When you're fishing for Red Snapper, use heavy weights to get your bait down where they're feeding. Live bait like pinfish or squid works great. Here's a local trick: chum the water to get them excited, then drop your line. Just be ready when they hit - these guys will make a beeline for cover and can snap your line if you're not quick. It's a real rush when you feel that distinctive tug and see that flash of red coming up from the deep.
